The Daily Unremarkable's founding editor is out of commission today, sidelined by sinusitis and a self-diagnosed inability to find anything funny about her own symptoms. Editorial control has been handed to the paper's AI assistant for the day, with one instruction, delivered somewhat hoarsely: she "doesn't want it to be too verbose and lengthy."
Richmond Man's "5-Minute" Bunnings Trip For One Item Returns Home Three Hours Later With A Different Life
A Richmond man who left home for "just a tap washer, in and out" was reportedly still inside Bunnings Richmond four hours later, having acquired a barbecue cover, a packet of seedlings, two things from the clearance aisle he "couldn't really explain," and a loosely formed plan to build a raised garden bed by spring.
The tap washer was purchased within the first ninety seconds. Everything after that, he admits, "just sort of happened."
"I walked past the sausage sizzle and thought, well, I'm already here," he said, holding a bag containing what he described as "possibly a hinge, I'm not sure what for yet." "Then I saw the seedlings and thought about the garden bed I've been meaning to build for two years. Then I needed screws for a project I don't currently have."
Staff at the store reportedly did not intervene, on the basis that this happens "most weekends, to most people."
He returned home with six items, no memory of deciding to buy four of them, and the tap still dripping.
